Afro Funke' invades
UCLA's Fowler Museum.

[gig review: Sat.6/6/09]  What a special treat, when the Fowler Museum asked us to recreate the AF affair under their roof. I mixed in the middle courtyard around the fountain, while people filed in. I welcomed everyone, and invited them into one of the gallery rooms where BALANDUGU KAN began their African drumming and dancing, surrounded by the larger-than-life art installations by Nigerian artist EL ANATSUI and others. They moved the crowd back into the center courtyard where ROCKY DAWUNI did a mostly-acoustic set of tunes that had everyone singing along until the end.
